Zelensky: An Invitation Must Include All Territories, But We Understand That Article 5 Cannot Act On Entire Territory Because Countries Are Against Risks Of Involving Them In War
KYIV - During a press conference on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that if Ukraine were to join the NATO alliance during wartime, Article 5, which states that if one alliance member gets attacked it's seen as an attack on all alliance members, may not apply to Ukraine's entire territory, most notably territories currently engaged in active combat.
He said on December 1st, that regardless of the concessions Ukraine makes to end the ongoing war, all of Ukraine must be invited to join NATO, not just part of it.
