US Soldiers Deployed To Alaskan Island Near Russia In Response To Increased Russian, Chinese Military Activity
130 soldiers were deployed to the Aleutian Islands on September 12th, 2024, one day after NORAD reported increased tracking of Russian military aircraft within the Alaskan ADIZ.
JUNEAU - The U.S. military deployed elements of the 11th Airborne Division and the 1st and 3rd Multi Domain Task Force to the Shemya Island in Alaska in response to the increased military activity by Russia and China near Alaska.
