US Seizes Vessel Transporting Iranian Missile Components To Houthi Forces In Yemen, More Attacks Reported In Red Sea
CENTCOM reported that the two U.S. Navy SEALs previously reported as lost at sea were directly involved in this operation.
SOMALIA/Red Sea - U.S. Central Command has reported that on January 11th, 2024 while conducting a flag verification U.S. Naval forces carried out a nighttime seizure of a dhow that it says was illegally transporting missile components from Iran to Houthi forces in Yemen.
U.S. Central Command reported that the two U.S. Navy SEALs previously reported as lost at sea were directly involved in this operation.
There have also been multiple incident reports today in the Red Sea, with one incident reported 100 nautical miles northwest of Saleef, Yemen, and another 57 nautical miles north of Al Assab, Eritrea. In one incident warning shots were fired.
