US Intensifies Pressure On Iran: CENTCOM Conference in Qatar Coincides with New Sanctions on Tehran’s Oil Network, Shadow Fleet

MIDDLE EAST - On February 22-23rd, General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), hosted the CENTCOM Component Commanders' Conference at al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Commanders and leaders from various CENTCOM components gathered to discuss operations, security, and strategies in the region, as well as efforts to counter violent extremist organizations like ISIS and Iranian-backed Houthis.
While in Qatar, General Kurilla met with Lt. Gen. Jassim Al Mannai, Qatar's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and other military leaders to strengthen the U.S.-Qatar military partnership and enhance interoperability.
The leaders emphasized their commitment to a military relationship that has spanned more than five decades.
