US Police Departments Increase Patrols After Former Chief Of Hamas Leader Calls For Global Protests
Former Hamas Leader said, "Tribes of Jordan, sons of Jordan, brothers and sisters of Jordan…This is a moment of truth and the borders are close to you, you all know your responsibility".
QATAR - After former Hamas leader and founding member Khaled Meshaal called for Muslims all over the world to participate in global protests on Friday in support of the Palestinians, various police departments in the United States are increasing patrols in preparation for what many news agencies reported is a "day of Jihad", or "day of rage".
Although Meshaal did not directly say those words, many came to that conclusion due to the fact that he said, "To all scholars who teach jihad for the sake of God and who preach the fighters and martyrs, to all who teach and learn, this is a moment of application [of theories] so that words are not just words".
Comments by Political Commentator Joey Mannarino were cited by news agencies calling it a "day of Jihad" or "day of rage".
The Commentator said, “The leader of Hamas just called for a Global Day of Jihad this Friday. Do not leave your homes that day unless there is an emergency. Avoid public transit. Avoid airplanes. Avoid public events".
In a statement to Reuters, The former Hamas leader said, "[We must] head to the squares and streets of the Arab and Islamic world on Friday". He also called on the "tribes of Jordan", or neighboring countries surrounding Israel to join the protests
"Tribes of Jordan, sons of Jordan, brothers and sisters of Jordan…This is a moment of truth and the borders are close to you, you all know your responsibility.
