US P-8 Flies Over Taiwan Strait, China Responds

Chinese fighter jets tracked the flight over the Strait, as the PLA Navy carried out military exercises south of Taiwan

TAIWAN STRAIT - A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon flew over the Taiwan Strait on Thursday, after which China protested the flight, saying that the United States "hyped" up the flight publicly. 

Chinese fighter jets tracked the flight over the Strait, as the PLA Navy carried out military exercises south of Taiwan, accounting for the increase in military aircraft and naval vessels spotted around Taiwan. 

China Views The Taiwan Strait As Its Own Territory, US Sees It As International Waters
