US Military Launches Airstrikes Against IRGC And Affiliated Militia
The US strikes followed an attack by an unmanned drone on the Tower 22 U.S. base in Jordan where service members were taking part in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

IRAQ/SYRIA - The U.S. military launched dozens of airstrikes within a 30-minute time-frame in Syria and Iraq against Iranian IRGC and affiliated militia targets it says were used to attack US forces.
U.S. President Joe Biden said, “At my direction, US military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack US forces".
He added, "Our response began today. It will continue at times and places of our choosing".
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also said, "This is the start of our response".
He also said that the United States does not seek conflict in the Middle East, or anywhere else, but that he and the president will not tolerate attacks on American forces.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby stated that the targets “Were carefully selected to avoid civilian casualties and based on clear, irrefutable evidence that they were connected to attacks on US personnel in the region".
