YEMEN/SOMALIA - Latest UKMTO reports state that there was a distress call heard over VHF of a vessel being boarded 700 nautical miles east of Bossaso Somalia on December 14th. On December 15th there was also a report of an incident near Yemen.
On December 15th there was an incident 60 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah, Yemen. UKMTO stated that authorities are investigating the incident. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
On December 14th there were distress calls regarding a vessel being boarded by “unknown persons” in the vicinity of 1203N 06120E, (700 nautical miles east of Bossaso, Somalia.
