Typhoon Haikui (Hanna) Approaches Taiwan
High-risk counties and cities located in southern and eastern Taiwan were evacuated
TAIPEI - 3,000 people have been evacuated from locations in Taiwan most at risk from Typhoon Haikui (Hanna) as it moves toward the island and is expected to make landfall at around 5 pm local time on Sunday (9 am UTC).
The typhoon will be the first to hit the island in four hours. High-risk counties and cities located in southern and eastern Taiwan were evacuated, along with hundreds of flight cancellations. Schools in high-risk areas were also suspended.
