Trump Says Palestinians and Hamas Won't Return to Gaza Despite Netanyahu's Comments Saying Otherwise
Regarding whether the Palestinians would be allowed to return Trump said, “No, they wouldn’t, because they’re going to have much better housing. Much better."
WASHINGTON - In an interview with Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump clarified that neither Hamas nor the Palestinians would be allowed to return to Gaza under his new plan for rebuilding the Strip, adding that they would have "much better housing" options.
During a Fox News "Special Report" Trump told Bret Baier, “No, they wouldn’t, because they’re going to have much better housing. Much better."
“In other words, I’m talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it’ll be years before you could ever — it’s not habitable,” he explained during the interview, adding "It would be years before it could happen.”
Netanyahu, also during an interview with Fox News said that the Palestinians would be able to come back to the Strip after being relocated temporarily while the Strip is cleared out and "de-radicalized".
“The actual idea of allowing Gazans who want to leave to leave, I mean, what’s wrong with that?” Netanyahu had said adding, “They can leave, they can then come back.”
