Texas Governor Renews Border Disaster Declaration Amid "Historic Influx"
The mayor of Eagle Pass, Texas also declared a state of emergency for the city after 5,000 illegal immigrants crossed over the border from Piedras Negras, Mexico.
TEXAS - Governor Greg Abbott has issued a proclamation and renewed a border disaster declaration issued on May 31st, 2021, and bolstered border security in order to stem what he calls a "historic influx" and avoid "imminent disaster" from the surge of individuals unlawfully crossing the Texas-Mexico border.
