Russia Reports Planned Flight Over Barents And Norwegian Seas, NATO Reports Scrambling Fighter Jets
Russian Ministry of Defense: "Two Tu-95ms strategic missile carriers perform planned flight over neutral waters of Barents and Norwegian Seas for about five hours".
MOSCOW - Russia reported a "planned flight" over the Barents and Norwegian seas for around five hours. A report by The Barents Observer cited Spokesperson Marius Vågenes Villanger from the Norwegian Armed Forces as saying NATO F-35 fighter aircraft were scrambled between 8:30 and 11:00 Norwegian time to meet "a group of Russian military planes" flying west from the Kola Peninsula.
