Philippines: Chinese Vessels Harassed, Water Cannoned, Collided With Its Vessels. China Says It Took "Regulatory Actions"
The Chinese military also denounced a US Warship Transit Through Taiwan Strait, waters which the US sees as international territory but China sees as its own.
SOUTH CHINA SEA - After the Philippine Coast Guard released a statement saying that Chinese Coast Guard vessels harassed, water cannoned, and collided with one of its ships leading to damage and injuries, the Chinese military released its own statement saying that it took “regulatory actions” and claimed the vessels “illegally entered” its waters without permission, referring to disputed territory claimed by both countries.
The Chinese military also released a statement denouncing the transit of a U.S. warship through the Taiwan Strait, which is seen as international waters by the United States but claimed by China as their own territory.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) and Maritime Militia vessels harassed, blocked Philippine Coast Guard vessels and deployed water cannons against the Philippine supply boat UM4.
