Pentagon Extends Ford Carrier Group's Stay In Middle East For Third Time
The Dwight D. Eisenhower carrier strike group was originally going to replace the Ford carrier group in the Middle East but on October 17th it was announced its stay was extended.
WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has issued an order for the third time to extend a carrier group and another warship's deployment to the Middle East for a few more weeks in order to maintain a presence around Israel as it continues to battle the Hamas terrorist organization.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford carrier group and USS Normandy cruiser, making it the third time their deployments have been extended to the Mediterranean.
