Pakistani Taliban Claims Responsibility For Deaths Of 10 Pakistani Police Near Pakistan's Border With Afghanistan

PAKISTAN - The Pakistani Taliban (Tehreek-e-Taliban) has claimed responsibility for killing 10 Pakistani police in northwestern Pakistan at a checkpoint near the country's border with Afghanistan.
The "Frontier Constabulary personnel" were killed during an exchange of fire that lasted around an hour, according to a senior intelligence officer who spoke to the AFP news agency.
The attack consisted of between 20 and 25 Pakistani Taliban militants. It was carried out against the Frontier Constabulary police assistance force in the Dera Ismail Khan district of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, around 43 miles east of Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Taliban group is an umbrella organization for armed militant groups operating along the Pakistani/Afghan border.
