North Korea Says It Test-Fired Hwasong-18 Solid-Fuel ICBM
State media said that the “military security situation on the Korean peninsula and in the region has reached the phase of nuclear crisis beyond the Cold War era”.
PYONGYANG - On Thursday North Korean state news said that the missile it had test-fired the previous day (July 12th) was a Hwasong-18 solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
The statement released by North Korea said that the missile flew for 1,001 kilometers ( 622 miles) for 4,491 seconds (75 minutes) at a maximum altitude of 6,648 kilometers (4,131 miles) before splashing down into the East Sea.
