Netanyahu Says Israel Will Fight Hamas Even If It Stands Alone After US Stops Weapons Shipments
Netanyahu: "If we need to stand alone, we will stand alone.I have said that if necessary – we will fight with our fingernails".
JERUSALEM - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will fight Hamas even if it stands alone after U.S. President Joe Biden stopped weapons shipments to the country over a planned offensive into Rafah in southern Gaza.
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan said that the decision by the Biden Administration is "a difficult and very disappointing statement to hear from a president to whom we have been grateful since the beginning of the war".
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir went so far as to say, "Hamas loves Biden".
On Wednesday Biden said in an interview with CNN, "I made it clear that if they go into Rafah — they haven’t gone in Rafah yet — if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities, that deal with that problem".
Netanyahu dismissed the warning and said Thursday, “If we need to stand alone, we will stand alone.I have said that if necessary – we will fight with our fingernails.”
He added, "But we have much more than fingernails and with that same strength of spirit, with G-d's help, together we will win".
