As of November 30th, 2023 the Finnish government has reported that they are closing the entire eastern border that the country shares with Russia.
FINLAND - As of November 30th, 2023 the Finnish government has reported that they are closing the entire eastern border that the country shares with Russia, the crossing point of Raja-Jooseppi, a decision that its government says means that all border crossing points between Finland and Russia will be closed until December 13th.
"It will not be possible to submit applications for international protection at any border crossing points on the land border between Finland and Russia.
The Government decided on this new restriction at an extraordinary session on 28 November 2023," a statement by the Finnish government reads.
