DOD Personnel Working With Hawaii, FEMA Officials to Speed Relief to Maui
Maui wildfires killed more than 100 people and destroyed the city of Lahaina last week.
HAWAII - Almost 700 DOD personnel and 140 Coast Guardsmen are part of the coordinated response to the Maui wildfires that killed more than 100 people and destroyed the city of Lahaina last week, Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said today.
The military members are working with members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, officials from the state of Hawaii, and Maui officials on a variety of missions.
