Today, China sent 8 military aircraft, and 11 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels around the island of Taiwan according to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense. This continues to be a higher number of vessels than is usually spotted around the island and one more than was spotted yesterday.

Beijing sees the island of Taiwan as Chinese-owned territory under the “One China Principle”, and the Taiwan Strait as part of China’s territorial waters.
