China To Japan: NATO's Plan To Expand To Asia Violates UN Rules
Beijing claimed that the wars and conflicts NATO is involved in suggest that the alliance is a grave challenge to global peace and security".
BEIJING - The Chinese embassy to Japan said that NATO's plan to expand to the Asia Pacific region violates rules set by the United Nations and that it hopes Japan refrains from actions that undermine trust among countries in the region during its interaction with the alliance.
China did not react well to a NATO communique earlier this month at Vilnius, which for the first time called China a security challenge to the alliance, saying that Beijing's "ambitions and coercive policies" are a significant challenge to the alliances "interests, security and values".
